This is a full-time, remote position anywhere in the contiguous United States, with a minimum of 50% national travel expected.

What You’ll Do:

The Senior Director of Internal Learning and Culture will lead the vision and execution of a cohesive internal learning and culture framework that nurtures a thriving, inclusive, and high-performing organizational culture. This leader will design and implement learning experiences across the employee lifecycle that supports professional growth, leadership development, and cultural alignment at every level. In close collaboration with the People and Culture team and organizational leaders, the Senior Director will develop strategies that deepen staff engagement, reinforce shared values, and foster continuous learning grounded in organizational health.

In this role, you will work closely with team leaders to create systems to support the design and delivery of high-quality internal learning experiences across all roles and levels. This position reports to the Executive Director of People and Culture.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Organizational Impact

  • Leads high-priority, multifaceted initiatives with strategic planning, stakeholder alignment, and problem-solving across the organization
  • Brings an organization-wide perspective and vision to the work of their team, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and core values
  • Anticipates organizational needs and develops proactive strategies that drive innovation, improve systems, and increase organizational effectiveness
  • Guides cross-functional, complex design efforts from vision-setting through workflow management, evaluating existing systems and implementing major improvements
  • Serves as an organizational thought leader, offering recommendations that influence decisions and advance organizational success
Internal Learning & Leadership Development
  • Designs and implements integrated, long-term learning strategies aligned with organizational priorities
  • Oversees the creation and delivery of scalable, high-quality learning experiences (e.g., onboarding, targeted learning groups, manager development)
  • Continuously assesses learning needs across the organization, using data and stakeholder input to inform leadership development, coaching plans, and retention strategies
  • Designs and facilitates adaptive leadership development programs across management levels
  • Coaches leaders and teams through adaptive challenges and conflict resolution, serving as a strategic partner to senior leaders
Team Engagement & Culture
  • Partners with leaders and cross-functional teams to embed inclusive practices, equity, and organizational values into daily operations
  • Leads initiatives that strengthen team culture, foster belonging, and support identity-based celebrations and recognition practices
  • Builds organizational capacity for structured innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Models organizational values, accountability, and ethical leadership while fostering a culture of growth, trust, and psychological safety
Execution & Results Orientation
  • Manages ambiguity and competing priorities while ensuring high-impact initiatives are delivered successfully
  • Uses data, analysis, and critical thinking to assess performance, identify opportunities, and drive outcomes
  • Ensures alignment of team and departmental efforts with organizational objectives, holding self and others accountable for results

Candidate Qualifications and Traits:

  • 10+ years of experience in adult learning, leadership development, or organizational development 
  • Learning Strategy and Program Architecture: Expertise in designing cohesive learning systems aligned with strategic goals, equity, and core values. Ensures programs are structured to drive growth, development, and organizational impact
  • Adult Learning Design and Facilitation: Deep understanding of design and delivery of inclusive, reflective, and practice-based learning experiences for diverse adult learners
  • Culture Building: Deep understanding of organizational culture and ways to embed values into daily practices and decision-making
  • Measurement and Impact: Deep expertise in designing systems to measure participant engagement, learning outcomes, and performance impact. Skilled in analyzing data trends to evaluate program effectiveness and inform continuous improvement
  • Healthy Culture Champion: Proven ability to influence and collaborate across functions to align learning initiatives with organizational priorities, while reinforcing healthy organizational culture practices that support individual and collective growth

Preferred Qualifications and Traits:

  • Experience in K-12 school systems and/or nonprofit education support organizations

Compensation:
